Acute pyelonephritis

Acute pyelonephritis
Urinary tract infection (upper)
Diagnosis: (pain + fever (rigors)
Pain is sudden in one or both loins.
May radiate to back.
May be dysuria.
High frequency.
Urine analysis is important.
Treatment: (specific treatment (antibiotic) + symptomatic (pain – fever – vomiting ))
Antibiotics: -quinolone group (sulfa in pediatrics: -septazole syr.)
- Ciprofar 250 tab. 500 tab. 750 tab.
- Ciprocin 250 tab. 500 tab. 750 tab.
- Ciprofloxacin 250 tab. 500 tab. 200 vial.
- Rancif 250 tab. 500 tab. 200 vial.
-  One tablet twice daily one hour before meals.
Symptomatic ttt:
Pain: - Olfen = voltaren = adwiflam = cataflam 25 or 50 mg tab. 1×3 after meals.
          -Buscopan = visceralgin = buscopan comp. tab. 1×3.
Vomiting: - Primpran = plasil tab. 1×3 before meals.
                  - Domperidone = motilium = motinorm tab. 1×3.
Fever: - Abimol 500 tab. Pyral 500 tab. 1×3.
